Treks Self Guided Audio Tours Announces Two New Downloadable Tours Cape Cod, MA July 2, 2007 Cape Treks, established as Cape Cod’s first provider of self guided audio tours, has added two new tours to its repertoire. “Walking the Town of Nantucket” and “Walking Provincetown’s Waterfront” are now available as downloads from the Cape Treks website. “Walking the Town of Nantucket” makes a departure from the popular Main Street shops as it embarks on a stroll through less visited areas and side streets of this very walk-able town. Long time island resident and writer Dave Cocker’s route leads to dozens of hidden gems and local favorite spots while he makes his leisurely tour toward the waterfront come alive with thoughtful anecdotes, historical and architectural notes and local folklore. “Walking Provincetown’s Waterfront” (With optional intro: “Driving from Highland Light, Truro to Provincetown”) offers the option of taking the walking tour only, or first driving from Highland Light – also known as Cape Cod Light – in Truro through the Cape Cod National Seashore to Race Point and the Provincelands before continuing into town for the walking tour. The walking tour begins in the center of town at MacMillan Wharf and continues along Provincetown’s historic and visually exciting Commercial Street. Written and guided by knowledgeable and well known resident Gordon Peabody, this informative narrative describes the many faces of Provincetown through stories and facts you can only hear from a true insider. Both of these tours are downloadable to your MP3 player or iPod from the website and are priced at $10.00 per download. Cape Treks’ other tours include “Driving Chatham”, “Driving Route 6A – Old Kings Highway” and “Wellfleet and Eastham” which includes several stops within the Cape Cod National Seashore. These three tours are available as downloads or in CD version. The CDs are $13.00 each plus shipping and handling on the website and are also available in local stores. A free tour of “Walking Hyannis Main Street and Waterfront” is available on the website to listen to or download. Cape Treks are locally written and produced with background music by Cape musicians. Cape Treks welcomes new ideas for tours and anyone with an idea for a new “Trek” is invited to contact writer/editor Bonnie Raine to present their ideas for production.
