Breaking news
If you photograph a news event using a mobile phone or still camera,
under no circumstances should you endanger yourself or others. You
should not take any other risks or hinder emergency authorities going
about their jobs. Faxts Life will not incur any liability in relation
to the gathering of these images and video.
Any photographs or video of a major event may be used almost
immediately by Faxts Life. For this reason we require some text
explaining just what the photograph depicts, when it was taken and
other information which you think might be relevant.
We may also need to contact you to verify some of the details in the
photograph and to establish whether you're happy to have a credit
published with the photo. This will help your chances of having a photo
selected for use on the Faxts Life online news web-site.
What we require:
You can submit video and photographs.
Ideally, you should aim to take a range of images. If possible pay
attention to framing. Don't get so focused on the photo's subject that
you ignore what else is going on around them. Watch out for poles,
trees and power lines. Of course, if the story is big enough, you
simply do not have the time to consider issues such as framing. Send
them in anyhow.
· Please send JPG pictures that are no larger than 800 x 600
pixels. Please limit each email MMS to a maximum of 10 images.
· Do not send images that have been manipulated in a digital
editing program.
· Please only send us photos of your own work, or photos you
have permission to send on to us for publication.
· Make sure you provide some relevant information about the
picture: location, photographer and a brief description what's
happening.
When you take picture, think about whether it might be possible to get
a better angle. The photo might be more interesting if you can get to a
higher or lower vantage point.
Please provide a contact number or valid return email address in case
we need to check with you about the details of the photograph.
Our use of photographs and videos will be governed by the Faxts Life
editorial policies.
Remember that Faxts Life offers news coverage in any country.
We would welcome photos of news events in your community.
