LIVERMORE, CA - Crime, Justice &
America (CJA), the
premier magazine for the criminal justice system, announces its plans
to expand
circulation nationwide, bringing an unprecedented publication to people
who
desperately need relevant information.
Beginning in California just a few years ago, CJA is making its way across
the country, county by county,
in select markets, using the unique regional edition concept. The
40-
page magazine is currently a quarterly publication with copies
distributed
directly into jail/correctional facilities on a weekly basis.
“The legal process
is both exciting and bewildering to
most people, as
evidenced by the
considerable interest in criminal justice programming on television; so
imagine
the desire for information if you are newly arrested. As a
mainstream
magazine, CJA provides relevant
useful information about the process, the participants, and the system,
as well as
interesting, informative, and humorous outlooks on current events.”
-Ray
Hrdlicka, CEO/Publisher.
The readers have written
hundreds of letters to CJA
since 2002. Their comments lend
support to the information provided:
“... thank
your organization for being so informative to those of us who do not
know.”
“…
find your magazine very
helpful and very inspiring.”
“…
[E]verybody fights over
these [issues]”
“I
really enjoyed reading [
CJA],
for it’s unlike any other magazine I have ever read.”
“…
truly helpful in more ways
than one”
“I
just recently came across half of
an issue of your magazine, and I was impressed and enlightened by a
couple of
articles I read.”
Since 2002, 800,000
issues and 11 editions have been
published, and CJA
expansion
plans include over 200 different regional versions simultaneously
published
across the country. “There is no
other
publication in existence within the criminal justice system that
provides the
type of services and information as Crime, Justice &
America.” - Michael Goza,
V.P Sales &
Marketing.
Firmly believing
in the First
Amendment, and no stranger to controversy, CJA
brought a First Amendment federal lawsuit against one county refusing
to
deliver the helpful editorial content to the newly arrested. In
one
ruling, the Court said: “Accordingly,
the Court holds that the publisher Plaintiffs have a right to
distribute CJA
…” Additionally, the Court
describes CJA: “… the Court notes, such a regulation (CDC) would allow the delivery of CJA, which
has literary,
political, and educational value…”
